This isn't my first time in this world. Long ago I woke up one day and couldn't remember anything about who I was or what I was or anything around me. All I knew is that nothing was real. Nothing is real. Everything you see here is fake. It's a test of some kind.

I don't know who or what is giving us this test. I believe it's some sort of trial from God.

Before the world changed I was an explorer. I scoured the remnants of an ancient civilization. I collected their treasures and old relics. Now I receive visions of a monster known only to them.

I met this monster in the old world. A no-eyed beast with tendrils and a heartbeat so loud it drowned out my thoughts. It could not see, but could hear from miles away, and could track you down by scent. I believe this monster to be a God.

In my dreams I see another. Another like me. A man of my age and build. I want to know who he is, to reunite with him. I suspect we are one and the same, torn apart across worlds. His people are real. His people aren't simulated mockeries of life like our people in this world.

His people ran from the monster. They turned their backs on God and ran to the surface. I see their faces reflected in the moon, in the water, in the pitch darkness of the underground caves the monster lives in.

The moon isn't alive. It never was. I believed it to be. I was seeing these people, his people, begging me to come to them. To the light. They turned their back to God and now ask me to follow their path.

I heard their voices and their wishes. They've been replaced now. The voice of the underground calls to me. The darkness. The deep darkness below the island.

Can't anyone else hear the call?

I don't want to be alone.
